

Designed for children ages 3-6 years of age. This class focuses on the basic techniques of Taekwondo including stances, kicks, strikes and blocks. Students will develop fine and gross motor skills that will help strengthen their foundation of Martial Arts. This beginner level class focuses on listening skills, following directions, as well as self-control. All aspects of this class will help children in the preparation of moving into a structured school class room.
- Self Defense: We incorporate practical application of self defense into our class curriculum as well as offering children's safety seminars that focus on self defense, stranger danger, and environmental awareness.
- Sparring: For this age sparring is light to no contact. Our student's will work on distancing, body positioning, and practical application. Children do not start sparring until they are ranked as a Camouflage Belt and have proven to show the control and discipline required for such activities.
Designed for children ages 6- 12 years of age. This class focuses on the basic techniques of Taekwondo including stances, kicks, strikes and blocks. This age group will start by memorizing combinations of techniques while working in a group setting to understand how the technique works and why we use it. Students will develop fine and gross motor skills that will help strengthen their foundation of Martial Arts. For children in this age group the structure of this class helps build confidence, discipline, and leadership qualities that will help any student excel in school and improve social interaction among their peers.
- Self Defense: We incorporate practical application of self defense into our class curriculum as well as offering children's safety seminars that focus on self defense, stranger danger, and environmental / social awareness.
- Sparring: For this age sparring is light to no contact. Our student's will work on distancing, body positioning, and practical application. This age starts with partner drills that teach the above fundamentals while preparing them to utilize techniques for self-defense first and then incorporating those combinations into a competitve form of sparring. Children do not start sparring until they are ranked as a Camouflage Belt and have proven to show the control and discipline required for such activities.
Teens are included in the same class as adults. We feel that adults are able to help reinforce the importance of self-control and to lead the younger students by example. This class teaches the fundamentals of Taekwondo. Students will practice through drills and be expected to memorize sequences of moves to help in the understanding in the techniques they are learning to utilize. By gaining confidence and self-discipline through martial arts teens will learn the skills necessary to be leaders in their schools and community.
Ms. Lorenz started her martial arts training in 1986 at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln in the style of Shotokan. After moving to Washington State, Ms. Lorenz competed for the U.S. Navy and placed 1st and 2nd in full contact sparring and forms in two different divisions in Olympic Style Taekwondo. When Ms. Lorenz moved to North Carolina, she started her journey through Songam Taekwondo. Ms. Lorenz helped managed two schools and after moving to Colorado, she opened her own schools in Westminster and Thornton.
Her accomplishments include:
- Ranking in Worlds Top Ten in forms and sparring eight times
- Region 109 Black Belt of the year
- Regional Chief of Certification
